Welcome to the website created by a "Gelfund" for "Gelfunds" everywhere! Hi there! I am Don Gelfund, the owner of a the uncommon surname, "Gelfund." Pronounced "Gal-Fund." It is derived from the better known surnames, "Gelfand" or "Gelfond." The story I've been told is, that when my paternal grandparents came to the United States from Eastern Europe through Halifax around 1913, an immigration officer failed to close the "a" in "Gelfand." A simple typo created a new and unique name. For this error, I would like to say "thanks" to that long-gone civil servant since the other dot-com extensions of the other names were already taken!

My main occupation is Selling, Managing, and Renovating real estate. I have been a full-time, Chicagoland area Realtor with M-G-M Realty, Inc. for over 18 years (with the gray hairs to prove it). Residential real estate is my specialty, with a strong knowledge of condominiums too.
